National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Our school will be closed on September 30 for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This is a day to remember the children who went to residential schools and the ones who never came home, as well as to honour the Survivors and their families.

On this day, Canadians are encouraged to learn, reflect, and listen to the stories of Indigenous peoples. Many people choose to wear orange as a way to show care and support β€” this is why it’s often called Orange Shirt Day.

It’s an important time for all of us to show kindness, respect, and understanding as we work toward reconciliation together.
