🎓 Grade 12 Students: Grad photos will also be taken, so please come prepared!
Graduates should bring:
• A white collared shirt or blouse
• A tie, if desired
• Any props or special items you would like included in your grad photos (*no pets)

National Indigenous Peoples Day
There will be no classes on June 22 as we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a time to recognize and honour the cultures, traditions, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.
In the Yukon, this day is especially meaningful as many communities gather for cultural events, ceremonies, and celebrations. It’s an opportunity for students, families, and staff to learn, participate, and show respect for the rich heritage of Indigenous peoples.
Professional Development Day
No classes for students while staff attend training and workshops.
Easter Monday
There will be no school on Easter Monday following the Easter long weekend.
Community Committee Ceremony and Public Meeting
Eliza Van Bibber School invites learners, families, and community members to attend a Ceremony and Public Meeting hosted by the Interim Community Committee on March 30, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the school firepit and gym.
This gathering will include a Fire Ceremony to celebrate the developing relationship between the school community and the First Nation School Board.
Attendees will have the opportunity to:
Learn about the work of the Interim Community Committee
Meet committee members Darcie, Annette, Julia, and April
Share ideas and priorities for the future of the school
All are welcome to attend.
March Break

Heritage Day
School will be closed for Yukon Heritage Day, celebrating the history and culture of the territory.
YukonU Visit
On February 12, we’re excited to welcome the Yukon University STEAM Program to our school. Students will take part in a hands-on geological survey, exploring local geology while learning how scientists collect and analyze data. This engaging, place-based activity connects STEAM learning to real-world science and the land around us.

St. Francis Rock Band Concert
We’re excited to welcome the St. Francis Rock Band to EVBS on Thursday, November 14th! As part of their Northern Communities Tour, the band will be performing a lively concert for our students, showcasing different styles of music in a rock band setting. It’s sure to be an engaging and fun musical experience for all!
Remembrance Day
School will be closed as we honour and remember those who served and sacrificed. At 11:00 a.m., Canadians pause for a moment of silence to reflect on their bravery and to think about the importance of peace.
Remembrance Day Assembly
Join us as we come together to honour and remember the sacrifices made by veterans and those who have served our country. Students, staff, and community members are warmly invited to attend this meaningful ceremony in the EVBS gymnasium.

Gadzoosdaa Student Residence - Information Meeting
Mike Snider, Team Leader at Gadzoosdaa Student Residence, will be visiting EVBS to chat with students who might be thinking about attending school in Whitehorse and staying at Gadzoosdaa.
Student / Parent / Teacher Night @ EVBS!
Students will have the pleasure of guiding their parents/guardians through the classroom, presenting their projects and sharing their accomplishments. This is a chance to meet with your child’s classroom teacher - these interviews are scheduled in 10-minute blocks.
This event offers a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the learning and progress students have achieved.
Thanksgiving Day
School will be closed for Thanksgiving, a time for gathering and gratitude.

Students will be running laps and collecting popsicle sticks—the top stick collectors in each age group will take home a TURKEY PRIZE to enjoy with their family this holiday weekend !

Community Update Meeting
Selkirk First Nation will be hosting a Community Update Meeting on Thursday, October 2nd at the Pelly Crossing Link Building from 10am until 4pm.
This is an important opportunity to hear updates from the First Nation School Board on Eliza Van Bibber School, ask questions, and bring forward any concerns or suggestions.
Lunch will be provided!
