Spirit Week!

Eliza Van Bibber school celebrated our very first SPIRIT WEEK! From Monday through Friday, students and staff brought their energy, creativity, and enthusiasm every day, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere for everyone in the building.

The week kicked off with Camo Day on Monday. The school halls were a blur of green, brown, and camouflage patterns as students showed off their best outdoor-inspired looks. Some were nearly invisible due to their creative camo wear, while others had their fun with camouflage-themed accessories. It was the perfect way to ease into a week of spirited celebration.

Tuesday was Twin Day, and it didn’t take long before we were seeing double—and sometimes triple! Whether it was friends, siblings, or even students and teachers teaming up, the coordination was impressive. From matching plaid shirts and jeans to identical hairstyles and shoes, Twin Day brought out a great sense of camaraderie and gave everyone a reason to connect.

Things got a little wacky on Wednesday with Crazy Hair & Hat Day. Students came to school sporting pipe cleaner curls, sky high spikes, and hats in every size and shape imaginable—from burger hats to antenna to hats made entirely out of ribbon! It was a day full of laughter and jaw-dropping styles, and it gave everyone the chance to express their personality in the most colourful ways.

On Thursday, the school transformed into a scene straight out of a comic book for Heroes vs. Villains Day. Superheroes flew down the hallways while sneaky villains plotted their next prank. We had appearances from well-known characters like Spider-Man, and Batman, as well as some completely original characters that showed off just how imaginative our students can be. The costumes were outstanding and the spirit of the day—whether heroic or mischievous—was felt all around.

Finally, we wrapped things up on Friday with School Colours Day, and what a way to finish! The school was covered in a wave of black, gold, and white, showing off just how much pride our students and staff have in being part of the EVBS community. From school swag to jerseys to outfits fully coordinated in school colours, it was a powerful display of unity and wolverine pride.

Throughout the entire week, participation was amazing. It was clear that everyone—from Kindergarten to Grade 12, and all the staff in between—were excited to be part of the fun. Spirit Week isn’t just about dressing up; it’s about building a sense of belonging and school pride, and this week truly brought us all together.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, encouraged others to join in, and helped make the week such a success. Events like this remind us how special it is to be part of the EVBS family. We’re already looking forward to next year’s Spirit Week!
